"People in crisis need to see if their way of expressing their problems and their reactions to these problems are making sense.  They need to release their pent-up energies of rage and hurt that block clear thinking.  And they need some reminders about who they really are beyond the current melodrama, grief, or fear they've gotten caught up in.  They also need to be reminded of their strengths, as well as empathized with about the way they've gotten hurt or off track. "

This is the essence of counseling  as I have come to understand it:  offering you a safe space, where your emotions and thoughts can be processed in total acceptance of your current experience;  listening  to you and allowing  you to reach within to gain insight and understanding;  being with you as a fellow traveler on the road of recovery and well being;  offering my experience and knowledge as  guidance;  exploring with you new possibilities and courses of action.
Change is a constant in our lives, and counseling can be a powerful tool to process it, to become a healthier human being, and  to gain clarity  about  our overall wellness  and  our life goals.
Healing happens on all levels of our being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. I embrace a holistic approach to well being  and take into consideration all aspects of Self.  At times I work in my counseling space with clients, but at times I  also move with them to the mat and utilize a  body centered approach to explore a deeper awareness of self and of what is happening  for individuals  when they tune into their bodies as a source of information and processing.
